Submitting an outgoing proposal allows you to request a book exchange with another user. When you find a book you would like to receive, you can offer one of your own active books in return. This is the core action that enables book swap and exchange books nearby in Pasaj.
Where to Submit a Proposal
There are two main entry points to submit an outgoing proposal. The primary and most common one is the Feed 
From the Feed
The Feed lists books nearby that are available for swap. To submit a proposal from the Feed:
- Open the Pasaj Feed
- Tap on the book you are interested in to open its Preview page.
- Tap on the Propose Swap button.
- A bottom sheet will appear, displaying all your active and available books.
- Tap Select under the book you want to offer.
- A final confirmation dialog will appear asking you to verify and send the proposal.
- Confirm to send your proposal.
Once confirmed, your outgoing proposal will be sent to the owner of the target book. The proposal will remain active until it is accepted, declined, or withdrawn.
You can later manage this proposal from the related book under My Books 
> View Proposals.

In certain cases, a book in your library may not be selectable for a specific target book. Instead of a Select button, you may see a status label explaining the restriction.
This appears if you already have an unresolved, active proposal offering the same book for the same target book.
You cannot submit duplicate active proposals for the same book pair. You must wait for the other user to respond or withdraw your existing proposal.
This appears if:
- You previously offered the same book for the same target book, and
- The target user declined your offer two times.
This rule acts as an anti-spam and anti-harassment mechanism. It prevents repeated swap requests after multiple explicit rejections.
You will not be able to offer that specific book again for the same target book.
This appears if your book is already involved in an active chat session with that specific target book.
For example, if a proposal was accepted and the swap is currently being discussed, you cannot submit another proposal for the same pair of books.
No Books Available
If you have zero active books in your library, you will not be able to submit any outgoing proposals.
Instead, you will see an empty state screen with a prompt to Add New 
button.
To proceed:
- Tap Add New button.
- Add a book to your library.
- Ensure the book is active and available for swap.
- Return to the target book and tap Propose Swap again.
Only active and available books can be used to find books nearby and exchange books nearby through proposals.
Best Practices for Successful Swaps
- Make sure your book details are accurate and complete.
- Avoid repeatedly offering the same book if it has been declined.
- Keep communication clear once a proposal is accepted and moved to chat.
- Maintain at least one active book in your library to participate in book swap activities.
