In Pasaj, proposals are managed at the book level. There is no global proposals page. Each book has its own proposal list. If another user wants to swap books nearby with you, their request will appear under that specific book.
Where to Find Incoming Proposals
To view proposals for a specific book:
- Go to My Books

- Select the book you want to manage.
- Tap View Proposals.
You will now see proposals related only to that selected book.
At the top of the page, there is a segmented control with two tabs:
- Active
- History
The Active tab displays all active proposals for that book, including both incoming and outgoing proposals.
You can identify incoming proposals by:
-
A left arrow
icon. -
Two action buttons beneath the proposal:
- Decline
- Let’s Swap
Outgoing proposals are marked with a right arrow
icon and do not show these two buttons.
If there are many proposals, you can use the Filter
option in the top bar to display only incoming proposals

How to Reply to an Incoming Proposal
To respond to an incoming proposal:
- Go to My Books

- Select the relevant book.
- Tap View Proposals.
- Stay under the Active tab.
- Locate the incoming proposals

- Tap either Decline or Let’s Swap.
Decline an Incoming Proposal
If you tap Decline, the proposal will immediately move to the History tab for both parties.
This action closes the request. The other user will no longer be able to continue that specific book exchange proposal.
Declining is appropriate if the proposed swap books nearby do not match your preferences or availability.
Proposal Limit After Two Declines
Pasaj also protects users from repeated identical proposals.
If you decline a proposal made by the same user for:
- The same book of yours, and
- The same book of theirs,
two times, the other user will no longer be able to propose that same book for your same book again.
This rule applies only to that exact book-to-book combination. It prevents repetitive requests and ensures a smoother experience when you swap books nearby.
Start a Conversation with Let’s Swap
If you tap Let’s Swap, a chat will be initialized between you and the other user.
This does not complete the swap.
It simply opens a communication channel so you can:
- Discuss book condition
- Arrange meeting details
- Confirm availability
- Clarify expectations for the exchange books nearby process
The actual swap is completed only after both parties finalize and confirm it. Starting the chat is the first step toward completing a successful book swap.
Decline All Incoming Proposals for a Book
If you want to decline all incoming proposals for a specific book at once:
- Go to My Books

- Select the relevant book.
- Tap View Proposals.
- Tap More Options
in the top bar. - Select Decline All Incoming.
This will bulk decline all active incoming proposals for that book. All declined proposals will move to the History tab for both parties.
