What happens when I downgrade from PRIME?

When you cancel your PRIME subscription and move to the Free plan, your books are never deleted. Your three most recently added books remain fully active, while any additional books become locked.
Locked books are safely preserved — nothing is permanently lost.
What changes for locked books?
In My Books
- Locked books appear greyed out with a lock icon
- You cannot edit, share, or delete locked books
- A banner at the top of My Books reminds you that only your 3 most recent books are accessible
In the Feed
Locked books remain visible to other users in the feed. If someone sends a proposal for one of your locked books, you will receive a notification prompting you to upgrade:
"One of your locked books got a new proposal. Upgrade to Prime plan today to unlock all your books and see the pending proposals."
Proposals
- Incoming proposals for locked books are still received and stored, but you cannot view, accept, or decline them until you unlock your books
- Outgoing proposals made from locked books remain as they were — they are not automatically withdrawn
Swap Confirmations
If any of your locked books had an active swap confirmation (the 72-hour pending period), that confirmation is automatically declined to prevent the swap from completing on a book you no longer have full access to. Both parties receive a system message in the chat.
Chats
- Active chats involving locked books are muted — you will not receive push notifications for new messages in those chats
- Chats appear greyed out with a lock icon in your Chats tab
- Tapping a muted chat prompts you to upgrade
- If someone accepts a proposal you previously made using a locked book, you'll receive a notification:
"Your previously made outgoing proposal using one of your locked books has been accepted. Upgrade to the PRIME plan now to access the chat."
How do I unlock my books?
Upgrade to PRIME. When you resubscribe, all locked books are instantly unlocked and fully active. Muted chats are automatically unmuted, and you regain full access to any pending proposals.
Note: Swap confirmations that were automatically declined during the lock period are not restored. The chat remains active and you can continue the conversation.
