Pasaj is designed to be a safe and respectful environment for book swap and book exchange activities.
Multiple preventive systems are already in place to reduce spam, repetitive proposals, and inappropriate content.
However, if you ever feel uncomfortable during an active engagement, you have the option to Block and Report another user directly from the chat.
When Can You Block a User?
In Pasaj, blocking is only available after an engagement has started.
You cannot block a random user without interaction. A block option appears only when:
- A swap proposal has been accepted.
- A chat has been created for a specific book.
- You and the other user are actively connected through that chat.
This approach ensures that blocking is used only when there is a real interaction that requires action.
Before chats begin, Pasaj already applies preventive measures such as:
- Proposal limitations after two declines for the same book-to-book combination.
- AI-powered moderation for text and images.
- Community-based safety standards.
Blocking becomes available only when an active chat exists.
How to Block & Report a User
To block and report a user:
- Tap Chats
from the bottom navigation bar. - Make sure you are in the Active tab.
- Open any chat with the user you want to block.
- Tap the More Options
button at the top right corner. - Select Block & Report.
You will then be asked to:
- Choose a main category (such as behavior and safety, trust and reliability, or community standards).
- Select a relevant subcategory (for example, harassment, hate speech, or another listed reason).
- Confirm your decision.
Once confirmed, the action is immediate and final.
What Happens After You Block Someone?
Blocking a user in Pasaj is comprehensive. The following actions will automatically occur:
- The active chat will be permanently closed and archived.
- Any other chats with the same user will also be marked as withdrawn.
- The blocked user will no longer be able to view your books.
- The blocked user will not be able to send you proposals or messages.
- All incoming active proposals from that user will be automatically declined (if any).
- All outgoing proposals you previously sent to that user will be automatically withdrawn (if any).
This ensures that there is no remaining engagement between the two accounts.
To protect your privacy, the block process is handled similarly to a regular Mark as Withdrawn action. The other user will not be notified that they were blocked.
How to View or Unblock Users
You can manage blocked users at any time.
To access your blocked list:
- Tap on your Profile Avatar
in bottom navigation bar.. - Tap Blocked Users.
There, you will see the user’s name and avatar, along with an Unblock option.
If you choose to unblock:
- Both users will be able to view each other’s books again.
- You will be eligible to start new engagements through proposals.
- ⚠️ Previous declined or withdrawn proposals will not be restored.
- ⚠️ Previously archived chats will not be reopened.
Unblocking simply allows future interaction. It does not reverse past actions.
